How Declarly works.
Written against the running product, in the words the screens use. If a page here disagrees with what you see in the console, the console is right and we want to hear about it — hello@declarly.com.
Setting up a brokerage
The four things that have to be true before an approved entry can leave: workspaces, people, importers and their authority, the wallet and the rate.
Company administrators, on day one
The life of an entry
Every state an entry passes through, who moves it on, and where the desk stops and the ABI system begins.
Entry writers and licensed brokers
Roles and what each one holds
Nine roles over 66 permissions, the four scopes a membership can sit in, and why nobody approves their own work.
Company administrators
The money on the record
The prepaid wallet, what a filing costs, client invoices, reconciling a CBP statement and recovering overpaid duty.
Licensed brokers and administrators
The audit trail, and support
What gets written down, what a Declarly support session can and cannot do inside your workspace, and how you see one.
Anyone asking who did what
Where Declarly stops.
Entries are prepared, checked and approved on Declarly by a licensed broker; filings leave through the ABI system your brokerage already uses.
Every page in this documentation is written on that basis. Declarly is where the work is prepared, checked and approved, and where the record of it lives afterwards. It is not an ABI filer and does not hold an ABI certification; your brokerage's own filing system is what talks to CBP. Declarly is an independent software company and is not affiliated with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Four scopes, and everything hangs off them.
Almost everything in these pages makes sense once the scopes do. A membership puts one person at one level, and what they can see is decided there.
Platform
Declarly itself. Two roles sit here and neither belongs to a customer.
Partner
A reseller's partition: the companies it has onboarded, and nothing inside their filings.
Company
One brokerage or importer. People, wallets, rates and authority to file live here.
Filing workspace
Where the work happens — a company's office with its own filer code. Entries belong to one.
9 roles are spread across those four scopes. Which role holds what.
